DTB Partners with TAA in Forestation Project!
We have partnered with the Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) in an exciting environmental initiative to plant 5 million trees across selected airports in Tanzania by 2030. This significant effort marks a crucial step in our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship.
The official Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) on April 26, 2025, with a gathering of key dignitaries, including the Kilimanjaro Regional Commissioner, Director General of TAA and other prominent figures. Our CEO, Mr. Ravneet Chowdhury, emphasized that this initiative is central to DTB’s Sustainability Master Plan, aligning with global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land).
The tree planting project will enhance airport environments, foster biodiversity, and combat climate change, contributing to a greener future for Tanzania. The first phase will focus on Kilimanjaro International Airport, with plans to expand to other airports like Dodoma, Mwanza and more. We encourage you to support this monumental initiative and continue embracing sustainability in all our operations.
Together, we can make a lasting impact on both the environment and the communities we serve.
