DTB and ARISE Donate Computers to promote ICT learning at Songoro Mnyonge Secondary School
Diamond Trust Bank Tanzania Plc (DTB), in partnership with ARISE, has donated 20 refurbished desktop computers and 135 tree seedlings to Songoro Mnyonge Secondary School in Salasala, Dar es Salaam. The initiative supports digital education and environmental sustainability, building on ARISE’s ongoing assistance to the school, including a weekly hot‑meal programme that helps improve student attendance. The handover ceremony was attended by representatives from DTB, ARISE, the school, and the local community.
The computers will be used to establish a computer lab, expanding students’ access to ICT learning while promoting responsible reuse of electronic equipment. The tree‑planting initiative aligns with DTB’s Environmental and Social Governance (ESG) agenda and its #MuchMoreThanTrees campaign, contributing toward the bank’s 2030 net‑zero goals. Together with ARISE, DTB aims to plant over 600 trees at the school, supporting broader commitments to quality education, climate action, and sustainable community development.
